In CRM, entities are the fundamental building blocks that model and manage business data, similar to tables in a database. Common examples include Accounts, Contacts, Leads, and Opportunities. There are three main types: system entities, which are used internally by the CRM and cannot be changed; business entities, which are built-in and customizable; and custom entities, which organizations create to meet specific needs.
