Resco Docs+ is a managed solution that showcases Resco's document generation on the Power Platform. Combine data from Dataverse, virtual tables, and field data to create invoices, contracts, reports, etc.
How to install Docs+
Getting the solution files
- Go to the product page and start a free trial.
- Download the Docs+ zip file.
- Extract the zip file to get two managed solution files:
- Resco Docs+
- Resco Suite (Woodford)
Installing Resco Suite
Docs+ requires Resco Suite (Woodford) managed solution as a prerequisite. You can skip this step if you already have an environment with Resco Suite installed.
- Log in to https://make.powerapps.com with your Power Platform/Dataverse/Dynamics account.
- Select the environment where you want to install Woodford. You must have admin rights in that environment.
- Select Solutions to display a list of solutions on your environment.
- Click Import solution and choose the downloaded solution file, then click Next.
- Power Apps verifies the package. Click Import and wait until the installation is complete.
- Publish all customizations to conclude the installation.
Installing Resco Docs+
- Log in to https://make.powerapps.com with your Power Platform/Dataverse/Dynamics account.
- Select an environment where Resco Suite is available. You must have admin rights in that environment.
- Select Solutions to display a list of solutions on your environment.
- Click Import solution and choose the downloaded solution file, then click Next.
- Power Apps verifies the package. You need to select or create three connections:
- Dataverse legacy
- Resco Reports connector: You must provide the URL of your Dataverse environment. You can copy it from the Power Platform Admin Center. Select an environment and look for the Environment URL, for example
https://org00000000.crm4.dynamics.com/
. Make sure to include the "https://" at start. - Dataverse
- You might need to click Refresh to apply changes.
- Click Import and wait until the installation is complete.
- Publish all customizations to conclude the installation.

Publishing a project in Woodford
- On the list of published apps in your organization, find Resco Suite and start it.
- Start Woodford.
- Click New to start the New Project Wizard.
- On the first page, select Inspector from the template gallery and click Next.
- On the second page, select the "Default" app or create it, then click Next.
- On the third page, enter a name like "App project". Select a role matching your Dataverse role, such as "System Administrator". Click Create.
- Double-click the new project and click Publish.
- Wait until the project is published. You can close Woodford.
(Optional) Installing sample report template
If you want to experiment with digital reports, it makes sense to have at least one such report available. You can either import a sample report template or create it from scratch.
- On the list of published apps in your organization, find Resco Docs+ and start it.
- On the Get Started page, expand Document template import and download the document template using the provided link (or from here).
- Extract the XML template from the downloaded file.
- Select Report Designer from the menu to start the tool for designing report templates.
- Click Import and select the XML file.
- Use "Account Overview" as template name, then click OK to import it.
- Select the new template and click Activate.

(Optional) Installing sample Dataverse data
If your current environment/organization does not include data, consider adding sample data for demonstration/training purposes. See Power Platform documentation for this subject.
Docs+ app
This model-driven app aims to provide options to design documents via the embedded Resco designer tool. It also allows you to generate documents from Dataverse data.
- Get Started: The home page serves as an introduction to the app.
- Accounts: The classic Dataverse table. Its view and form include a preconfigured Power Automate flow that generates documents.
- On the view, select a record and click Flow > Generate Account overview... from the toolbar.
- On the form, use the Account Overview PDF button instead.
- In either case, after a few seconds, the generated PDF report appears on the timeline of the record.
- Report Designer: Use the Report Designer for creating, editing, and managing report templates.
