A

About (section)

Woodford section containing basic information about Woodford version, contact info for customer support and info about connected organization and an update button.

Account

An arrangement by which a user is given personalized access to a computer, website, or application, typically by entering a username and password.

One of the basic CRM entities, it can be i.e. a type of a customer or supplier.

Admin Console

Admin Console is a server administration center for the backend configuration. Recommended only for administrators; use it to manage users, import data, create entities, fields, and much more.

Adxstudio

A Microsoft’s subsidiary, provides web portal and application lifecycle solutions for Microsoft Dynamics 365/CRM, SharePoint and .NET platforms.

Agenda

A calendar view that shows list of appointments or service activities for the selected day. You can switch between the days using the arrows on the top or you can slide your fingers left or right.

AI Image Recognition

Resco can integrate with Azure's Custom Vision service to classify images. This essentially allows functions similar to barcode scanning - except you don't need barcodes!

Analytics

The systematic computational analysis of data or statistics.

In Resco Mobile CRM Mobile Audit Analytics while leveraging the GPS capabilities of mobile devices, allows user to see if the reps are indeed visiting the clients and working with the CRM data directly in the field.

Android

An open-source operating system primarily used in mobile devices. Written primarily in Java and based on the Linux operating system, it was initially developed by Android Inc. and was eventually purchased by Google in 2005.

API calls

An application programming interface (API) is a communication protocol or interface between client and server computers. When a client device requests data from the server, this is called an API call.

App Configurator

Resco App Configurator or Woodford is a browser-based configuration tool for building and managing app projects using the Resco platform. It also allows you to manage connected mobile devices and licenses.

App folder

Resco Mobile CRM saves all metadata and data of an app project to a local folder on your device. You can use the parameter App Folder to specify the folder. This allows you to have multiple customizations (app projects) installed on a single device in parallel; in different folders. You can then simply modify the App Folder to quickly change to a different organization/user/project, without lengthy full sync.

App projects

An app project is a customized version of the mobile application dedicated to a particular set of users. Or more precisely, the application remains the same, but each project may have a different set of data and functions available.

Appointment

Type of an Activity that contains the subject, location and start/end times. It has a settable priority and status together with the status reason. User can add notes to any appointment. It can be converted into an Opportunity or Case.

Arrange

To put into a proper order or into a correct or suitable sequence, relationship, or adjustment.

Associated list

A list of records associated/related with currently opened record.

When a user selects an associated list and clicks on Properties (or double clicks on the associated list), the options for the list will be displayed in section.

Auditing

Tracking of mobile CRM usage among users.

In the Auditing section of the project user can set what kind of action on selected entities will be recorded using the Mobile CRM application and sent to the CRM server when the application will be synchronized. User is able to track the time when the action was performed and also the GPS position (the device must contain the GPS chip). It is also possible to record the time and place where the synchronization was performed.

Authentication

The process or action of verifying the identity of a user or process.

Automatic List/View headers

Automatic sync

Background color

Color of an item's background.

Barcode scanning

Barcodes and QR codes are methods of representing data in a visual, machine-readable form. Barcode scanning is a must-have feature for many field sales scenarios.

Database space can be expensive. In Resco Cloud, you can use external storage for binary documents to save database space and money.

Bulk update

Bulk update of records is a feature of Resco mobile apps that allows you to modify selected fields for multiple records at once. App users can select the records on a view, start the bulk update command, enter the desired values, and save them to all selected records.

Business Central

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an enterprise resource planning system from Microsoft. The product is part of the Microsoft Dynamics family.

Business logic

The part of the program that encodes the real-world business rules that determine how data can be created, stored, and changed.

Button

Any graphical control element that provides the user a simple way to trigger an event, like searching for a query at a search engine, or to interact with dialog boxes, like confirming an action.

Calculated fields

Calculated fields are entity fields that derive their value from other fields.

Calendar

Visualization of time-defined records on a timeline.

Select the Calendar from the home menu to your Appointments or Service Activities. You can filter the Calendar to see only Appointments or only Service Activities and between different views (“All Appointments”, “My Appointments”, “My Completed Appointments”, “All Service Activities”, “My Service Activities”).

Call (logging)

CRM activity creation from an outgoing phone call. For Android devices also for incoming phone calls.

Turn ON or OFF the import of calls from your Android mobile device to your mobile CRM app. Then you can save incoming calls as call activities.

Can execute

Can execute rule can define what exactly should a command do. User can for example fill in some specific fields and set the status code as busy.

Capsules

For these cases, you can now design capsules, fill them with various Resco components, and easily deploy them to another organization.

Case

Specific CRM entity.

Charts

Charts can be used in two cases. Users can add a chart to a Dashboard, where they can add the desired chart(s) or flip the list view into a chart view. In case of the Chart view, if user has more charts, they can switch between them just like in case of multiple views.

Check In/Check Out

One-click action to set start & final time of an event with additional actions available in configuration dialog for Check In command. Check In is renamed to Check Out after the start time is set.

Child

Associated/related record, a specific case that can inherit certain info from the parent one.

Child form

Child form inherits the properties of its respective parent while retaining a possibility of its own changes that won’t affect the rest.

Child project

Child project will inherit all changes to parent project except of the parts changed in the child project directly.

Client portal

Customer portals are special app projects that are available as a web app in a browser. A portal doesn't serve the employees of your organization - it serves your customers (defined in the contact entity).

Cloud

Any of several, often proprietary, parts of the Internet that allow online processing and storage of documents and data as well as electronic access to software and other resources.

Collection

Conflict

Conflict means, that the same record is changed on the device and before synchronized, there is a change on the CRM server (e.g. other user changes the same record and synchronizes before the other user, or the record is changed on the CRM server.

Conflict resolution

A synchronization conflict comes into play when users modify a record in the Resco Mobile CRM application in offline mode, but before they synchronize the change, the same record is also altered on the backend server. In other words - the same record gets updated both in the mobile client and on the server, but neither of these modifications has been yet synchronized between them.

Dot notation

When working with Woodford and many other content tools, you often need to exactly identify a field in an entity, or a certain property of an object. We're using the dot notation to identify these.

DropBox

A personal cloud storage service (sometimes referred to as an online backup service) that is frequently used for file sharing and collaboration.

A default iOS communication platform.

Favorites

Favorites are an optional component in Resco mobile apps. App users can mark records as their favorite.

Fetch

Set of instructions sent to the service to collect specific data.

FetchXML

FetchXML is a proprietary data query language used for Dynamics CRM server. It is only used for querying data from the server, you cannot perform create, update, or delete operations using FetchXML.

Field

A database record parameter.

After enabling an entity, you can enable fields, that you plan to use on this entity in the Resco Mobile CRM application. E.g. I pick up some additional fields I want to use in my mobile project: City, Country/Region, Street and ZIP/Postal Code.

Field service

File

A collection of data, programs, etc. stored in a computer's memory or on a storage device under a single identifying name.

File column

File columns on Dataverse are a type of table column that can hold binary data. Since release 16.0, file columns can be also used in Resco mobile apps.

Filter(ing)

Displaying specific records based on certain criteria.

The Map, Activities and Calendar views can be filtered. You can filter the map view to see only accounts, contacts, leads or all of them. You can filter activities according to activity type, view, due date and sort. You can also filter the calendar to see all appointments or all service activities, my appointments or my service activities, or my completed appointments.

Fingerprint

An impression or mark made on a surface by a person's fingertip, able to be used for identifying individuals from the unique pattern of whorls and lines on the fingertips.

Flexible (UI)

Adaptable user interface.

Flexible form

Forms are one of the components of mobile apps. Flexible forms (also known as "cards layout" or "new form UI") offer an alternate rendering of forms.

Changed in release 19.1. Flexible forms and the tabbed interface have been combined into a single form pages system, and the option to switch between them has been removed.

Footer

Bottom part of list/view that contains a summary.

Form

A form contains fields that describe a specific record that users can see or edit.

There are two types of Forms: The Edit form and the Contact Information form. The Contact information is a read-only type of form for quick access to information. By customizing the Edit form user shall be allowed to edit the field’s information.

Form rules are a pseudo-scripting language (conditional formatting) that allows user to create conditions and steps to be performed.

Full or initial sync is a type of synchronization that downloads all data that meet the sync filter conditions.

Geocoding

Translating addresses to GPS coordinates.

Geofencing

Geofencing is a location-based service in which a software application uses GPS to trigger a pre-programmed action when a mobile enters or exits a virtual boundary set up around a geographical location, known as a geofence.

Global

Relating to or encompassing the whole of something, or of a group of things.

Global constants

Woodford administrators can define project-specific constants. These can then be used in the business logic throughout the app project.

Global map

The Map function is available from the Home screen of Resco Mobile CRM app. Entities that have GPS coordinates can be displayed on the map.

Gmail

Google's free web-based email service.

The brand name of a leading internet search engine.

Opposite of List/view footer.

When using the flexible forms, user can set what to display as the form header.

Annotations or Notes are a specific CRM entity that serves as attachment storage for Resco Cloud and Dynamics backends. For Salesforce, attachments are usually stored in the ContentVersion entity. See Images for more information.

You can find the Notes tab in the bottom panel of an account’s form. Here you can attach notes related to the Account. For example, tap on the photo button in the upper right corner to take a picture or record a video and save it. Or tap on the “+” button in the upper right corner to create a note with a description and attach a signature to it (you can draw on the screen here).

Offline (mode)

The application stores the Dynamics CRM data in the local database of your device. If you don’t have internet connection, you will still be able to access your data. The changes that you make (create new account, edit order, delete contact etc.) will be reflected on your Dynamics CRM server after you synchronize the app.

Offline HTML

Offline HTML is a flexible way to extend Resco mobile apps. You can add specially crafted HTML pages to your mobile project and these can be used for online and offline. When we say HTML pages, this is not restricted to .html files! You can also include JavaScript files, cascading style sheets, images, custom fonts, etc.

Schedule Board

Schedule Board, also called Scheduler, is one of the main components of Resco Routes and Resco Inspections. It provides a drag-and-drop interface for managing the people working in the field.

Search

You can use the search functionality in all entities except for a dashboard view. You can find the search bar at the top of each view (slide downwards for iOS devices or tap the search button represented as magnifying glass icon). Search is dynamic, meaning that the Mobile CRM app will show temporary search results according to the string that you have typed in.

Styles

Set of functional and visual field settings.

It is possible to change or add a style using the Edit Styles button on the Toolbar.

The editor enables user to change the default styles, or adding new styles, that can be then assigned to fields on views. The styles are global, for all fields on views, so if user changes a style that is assigned to multiple fields, even to a view on a different entity, these changes are also applied to these fields. Also, it does not matter in which view the Style Editor is opened and edited in.

Sync Errors

Sync login

Settable option in the Setup menu, represented by a button. If this button is switched off, the sync pop-up window won’t be displayed each time you will sync your app. The app will do the background sync and you will still be able to use your app even while it synchronizes with your CRM server.
